    It looks like the StarShot project is slowly working through the issues. Lubin's lab @UCSB is prototyping a small laser array, and Zak Manchester is figuring out the beam+sail stability issue. The stability bluster of Jim Benford turns out to have been incorrect (as was his assertion about microwaves being better than light) but - props due - he was the first to have a stab at it.

    I don't understand that part. We already know that the concept of a laser array is good. The problem is the scale-up. He should be prototyping a very large laser array.
