Why drill a hole into Mars when you can live on Earth and enjoy the rot?

He's started to be boring on Mars.
  1.
Hyperloop on Mars! That will piss off two entirely separate groups of people!

Seems sensible to me. They wouldn't need the tunnel.

  2.
Now how the heck can that happen if the atmospheric pressure is only about half of one percent of that of our glorious atmosphere?

I'm having trouble believing that all that dust floating around can be due to the winds alone. I'd bet my last rover that some electrical phenomenon is also involved.
  3.
    oh no!

That Mars thing does look unusually bright and red from my back porch. Nekkid eyeball, not telescopic. I'm waiting for a clear night to set up the scope and take a look.

Shows what happens when you make things of cheap plastic. I'm waiting for those cable ties to pop next...
  4.
Cable ties that have survived Mars and the journey thereto, for years beyond the mission's design lifetime...

I'll bet they didn't come from Harbor Freight (or Princess Auto...)
  5.
I suspect it's no longer under warranty.

Like the case against Earth colonisation.

Let's just do it before an asteroid does it for us. (Smashes our planet and smears us all over Mars)

We also can save a lot of money if the rich people go back to horse breeding instead of space tourism once the space between here and everywhere else is properly colonized.
  6.
I don't think we're clever enough to stave off eventual extinction. After all, everything dies. Even universes. So we might as well spend our time and energy cleaning up the place and enjoying it while we can.

We can do both at the same time. If our societies can afford billionaires we can afford space colonization too.
