    No it's not. I met the founder just before he started it. But even he admits it's a VERY long shot.

    Moderate temperature fusion works. Commercial neutron generators depend on it. I guess the "trick" is to make more energy than you use and to do it safely.

    Doing it by mechanical compression is impressive, but I don't know if it is efficient or safe.

    Back at the university back in the day, we calculated the particle density required for one kind of fusion reactor. I don't remember any specific quantities or the details. What I do remember is that the pressure was enormous but because the temperature were gigantous, the particle density was in line with what we would consider a hard vacuum for gas in the human temperature range.
