    If you guys are THAT bored, why don't you volunteer to fix ecatnews.com? It seems to have "weekend syndrome". It always amazes me how many web sites go belly up during night and weekends. It must be that they require nearly constant maintenance just to stay up. Last error was "Database not found". Or it just hangs and times out.

    Once more with feeling



    As has been realised by many, this was just a demo and as such no firm conclusions can be drawn except that PR succeeded in presenting something intriguing. To treat it as a test is to shoot way wide of the mark.

    However, certain remarks were made by Hajichristos and later by Dr. Yeong Kim, which I’d like to address here. They concern a massive magnetic field associated with the device, on order 1.6 Tesla. This is such an outrageous claim that it bears further scrutiny.

    Two days after the demo, Kim made reference to this field, but briefly and passed on almost immediately in his talk to other matters. Kim is a veteran of nuclear science and highly respected in his field. My immediate question was whether or not he made the measurement of this field himself. He replied via email that he did not, and that Hajichristos had “made the measurements” and he had taken Hajichristos at his word.

    This is an outrage. To manipulate such an illustrious and venerated scientist such that he is now the subject of public ridicule is inexcusable. Hajichristos, you are beyond my disgust.

    The Vorts are skirting around the issue and pretending it isn't there. But denial and self-delusion is absolutely their forte, so I have a huge amount of confidence in their ability to absorb this latest garbage and somehow make it their own.
