    Knowing the photosynthesis process, it isn't exactly surprising. You could probably do this with every cell which has some sort of electron transport process or ion channel system.

    The question is not is it possible, the question is : is it even economical ?

    Anyone remember The Secret Life of Plants ?

    It caputured a lot of imaginations during the '70s. I think that a lot more ordinary people are now questioning things like that, Uri Geller and Pyramid Power, rather than being quite as credulous as they were back in the day. Derren Brown certainly gets more airtime on British TV than Geller, now.
