Could be useful to compensate for the increasingly obstructive a-pillars in modern car design imperatives.

Cars are dangerous. The only reason they have windows is so that people can see into and out of them, like to drive and stuff. But driving is obsolete if you're a biological, and you can see more from home anyway on the wallscreen, so it won't be long before cars are indistinguishable from big eggs with air-cushion skirts, with no windows, hence no a-pillars necessary. It will be illegal for a biological person to ride in one except in dire emergencies.

That's the point of owning a luxury car.

But individual transportation solutions are also part of the equation, for example:

I have to travel at least twice a week to the nearest city, 25 km both ways. Using public transportation is still inconvenient, because luggage limitations (restructionsTM).

As much as I like slut-shaming owners of luxury cars, there is OTOH the fact that I really enjoy self determined extra human acceleration and the sense of super-empowerment. But that is coupled to my sensory apparatus and does not explain billionairism.

Sounds like you used to like to take a drive in the countryside, just for the pleasure of it. You probably even rolled the window down and opened the sunroof. Schalten wir das radio ein...

Wie gemein! And from now on
the YouTubes will stalk me with that garbage.

    Dankeschön. Herzlichen Dank.

I hope you are happy to not know my phone number.

    (just kidding...)

In a twist on flexible screens, CNET has learned that TCL is working on a phone that has a slide-out display instead of one you can bend in half like the Galaxy Z Flip and Motorola Razr. The point? To give you as much screen space as a tablet without having to carry one around. Based on images that CNET obtained, this concept phone looks like a standard phone, which then turns it into a tablet after you've pulled out the screen.
