    Yes. No obvious positive effects either none or no decent studies. Of course, there are tests for mitochondrial functions but they aren't easily available to the public, that I know of anyway.

    Also you have to use caution where you buy it to be sure you actually get it and without toxic or sketchy additional materials in the pills. This is the problem with all supplements. I admit to taking some as a calculated risk but if I were younger, I'd probably avoid them. And there are a few sources which seem more reliable than others because they have reputations to protect. One is Life Extension, another is Twin Labs and for some supplements, there are preliminary research papers which reference sources whose supplements have been assayed by the researchers and have been found reliable.
