If you really need heat you run the risk of freezing the groundwater around your heat source with those things. Heat pumps working from outside air is what we use here.

I've also seen wells and ponds used as heat sinks/sources for residential heat pumps.

Deep enough well would work. Big enough pond too - in open water you get better circulation.
Wells can freeze without any help from heatpumps.

Some public venues have used shallow aquifers. During summer, pump the heat in while cooling topside; in winter, suck it out again to warm things up.

The good and the bad of capitalism. Whoever assembles a pile of money first can cream off the best new technology and dominate the market. OTOH he thereby establishes a monopoly and his customers become dependent on him.

Oooh! From cheap labour to copycat to dominating economic power?

Where were you when OUR capitalists squeezed OUR labor force and OUR jobs went overseas?
Now China is the enemy. OK...

    Unfortunately, yes.

That means I don't want China to be an enemy.

You can take the new pill as well unless you have had the booster.
  2.
Kaiser Permanente does not appear to be actively encouraging boosters for those whom the CDC has approved.

Maybe Kaiser's algorithm recommends culling high risk entities from the pool of customers.
