    A real moletrapper should be able to figure that out from first principles, without reading the article.

    So I'm figuring it has something to do with whether the fluid involved (air or water) is upwelling or sinking, combined with the Coriolis effect as mass moves towards or away from the centers of rotation along the surface of a nearsphere that is itself rotating.

    Either that, or it's the fish.
