Hats off. But I must admit to having been rather more heartened by the Tunisian award. There's hope for those Arabs yet.

    NBF

I am getting soft I think this is a good idea.

Disruptive advanced nuclear design is in pre-licensing design review.

Interesting idea - I wasn't aware of them.

Another interesting idea that might be missed is that they propose to get a huge gain over the actual output of their reactor in the initial application. It's an old idea but this looks small and simple enough to make it possible: put the reactor under the oil sands to melt the bitumen and ease collection of heavy crude. So the thermal output of the reactor is vastly multiplied by the chemical energy you get out of the oil.

    Hope for Canada yet.

What happens if the idea is applied to releasing all that methane trapped in the cold ocean, could the released gas be contained in some way?

Could low grade nuclear waste be used to supply heat in deep water?

I will have to suggest the idea to the Green candiate in May, I'm sure it will excite them.

The greens get a little conflicted when you suggest nuclear power to help produce hydrocarbons.

Oh no...! I'm not trying to take away any credit from young Sandy Fleming. It was mostly his idea.
