Counting to a million was dumb. Listing primes was dumber. This is the current dumbest. Do I need to start a thread for people to enter sequential irrational numbers?

somebody beat you on the nonsensical: a thread on listing all even prime numbers.

I saw that, but I couldn't think of a word that meant dumber than dumbest.

Wouldn't get very far on that one. Even using double precision, I wind up with (rounded) 0.00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001 as the nth one, where n is a ridiculously large number...Let me send an email to my colleague Rotnacgroeg and we'll see what he thinks...

Thought you were using Linux. Just use "bc" and you can get magnitudes greater precision. For example 1/3:

    echo "scale=10000; 1/3" | bc -l

Wow. I just never thought of trying it on this pc, for some reason.

This took a fraction of a second longer:

    null@null-aleph:~$ echo "scale=10000; sqrt(2)" | bc -l

Right, you lot. I'm reporting this silliness to the FLPS. Maybe they can expand their mandate. I saw Det. Insp. Goonbasher just yesterday with a brand new rubber nightstick.

Wow. I just never thought of trying it on this pc, for some reason.

To see what it is actually capable of (especially if properly compiled as 64 bit application):

    echo "limits" | bc

I'm scared. Is this going to lock up my CPUs and let the smoke out?

    man bc | grep limits
