That's quite nice. But they don't seem to address the problem of making the other end of the link omnidirectional. Hard to do with limited optical power.
  2.
How about a vehicle that extracted thermal energy from the ground as it travelled? Impossible, you say? Well, so do I, but these ideas do pop into one's head from time to time.

I've never read a decent treatise on energy and entanglement. If a test molecule were entangled with a deeply buried molecule and the latter heated up, would the thermal energy be in any way transferred?
  3.
Well, would that not imply a superluminal transfer of information?
  4.
    Why would that necessarily follow?

If you can transfer energy you can send morse code.
  5.
The same is not necessarily true for Moral code

Does nobody remember the venerable B2M photocell (ca.1960)?

Before that, there were copper-oxide photocells (ca 1939). A DIY version

Study on biodiversity at solar farms:

    Compared to reference plots nearby:
“In conclusion, the study revealed that solar farms can lead to an increase in the diversity and abundance of broad leaved plants, grasses, butterflies, bumblebees and birds. The level of benefit to biodiversity is highly dependent on the management of the site, with greater focus on wildlife management leading to greater biodiversity benefit. The sites with the highest wildlife value were seeded with a diverse seed mix upon completion of construction, limited the use of herbicides, provided good marginal habitat for wildlife and employed a conservation grazing or mowing regime.”
