So you make hydrogen with your nuclear power? How is that greener than making electricity with your nuclear power?

Well when you are making excess electricity you need to store it in some way, normally as you know this is done by batteries but hydrogen is also a good power source for ships, trains and planes.

The implication being that there is more GHG associated with producing batteries than with producing hydrogen storage facilities?

That what I mean safe and cheap but we have to wait for China.

    How daft is that?

We have “green hydrogen” from renewable sources
We have “blue hydrogen” from fossil sources with ccs
We have “gray hydrogen” from traditional fossil sources
We even have “brown hydrogen” from lignite

And now I just read we also have “pink hydrogen” made with nuclear sources

    It’s a lobbyist world…

Green hydrogen and power roll can be used to transport ships and planes, which are pretty essential for our so called civilisation.

Scientists are also working on bio gasoline and diesel which will be pretty carbon neutral and better then the fossil versions.

The bacteria in the Australian so called 'green beer' show promise in reducing atmospheric CO2.

In Holland you can always cycle on a wooden bike.

Even in a so called lobbyist world with a 20% mix of hydrogen to natural gas the small amount of hydrogen would tend to grow over time.

And even close to a initial 20% reduction of fossil fuel should be welcome.

Ever hear of "producer gas"? Well over 150 years old. It's the CO content that made leaks lethal, however.

They have mobile nuclear power ships already to power small islands, no reason why they can't be adapted to help a small convoy of cargo ships to there destinations.

Except they haven't be built yet of course.
