    Roundup's (glyphosate) is great stuff. Still the best way to kill Himalayan blackberry is to spray with Roundup in October or thereabouts--the stuff will start dying off in the springtime. I wish there was something as effective for Scotch Broom.

    Not really; pretty much any part of the damned prickly plant can make new blackberries. Burning doesn't even really slow it down--any root part left in the ground will sprout.

    Goats are said to work well, but it takes years to finally kill the stuff off.
