Why are electrons more "pure" than photons or phonons or anything else. An erg is an erg is 10-7 Joule. This has the smell of some sort of fascism to it.

Photosynthetic organisms eat CO₂; they haven't done much to bring down the excess levels in recent memory.

Once mankind starts mucking about with altering bacteria then the slightest slip means we are doomed, doomed I tell you.
  1.
    It's a little late, don't you think?

Humans and their animals are awash in antibiotics, and the bacteria are gleefully breeding, being naturally selected and spreading genes for antibiotic resistance all over this miserable planet. It won't be long before limbs are dropping off just because someone got scratched by a thorn or licked by a dog, and there won't be anything medicine can do about it except push fluids and painkillers.

17% of the quarter million of people in the UK who contract sepsis do not survive.
  2.
100 % of live people alive will not survive getting the death rate down to 17 % would be truly amazing
  3.
