It should have been multi-purposed to look for: leprachauns, pixies, angels, and of course invisible unicorns in addition to the UFOs.

Some people have too much fun, and somehow manage to get paid for it.

As mentioned before, I did something similar but on a much smaller scale. Definitely want to set something up again. I used a high res high quality B&W Mitchel security camera in a home made environmental housing pointing vertical and secured to the side of my house. The camera was tied into the video card on the computer running motion capture software based on movement in the image. Capture was in AVI video format. It was tons of fun, every day was like Xmas to come home from work and check out the days haul. It was set up for daytime use only and no, nothing out of tens of thousands of images was what I would consider unexplainable.

Did your next door neighbour stop showering with the window open?

My brother told me something similar when we were kids. He said "every time you're not looking out a window a monster is looking in". Now I'm scared again.

Thanks. I used GOTCHA!. You could block areas of the frame that had motion that you didn't want to trigger the camera, a window say, and other features.

There's only 3 dimensions, so where does that shit come from? I demand a recount.

Free and pay version, is there a feature table somewhere for the two?

IIRC, the free version is fully capable but expires in 30 days. There are several pay versions depending on which features you want. The "deluxe" one has all the features enabled, so you dl it, try them all out for 30 days, then pay for the features you want to use further.
Pay once, and get free updates forever too, I think. And the guy responds to emails, or did back when he was small. I see that Celestron is bundling a version of HandyAVI with some of their astro cameras now.

the most fun I had was to link a webcam to my PC, then develop a program to capture single image at regular basis, compare two consecutive image for deltas, extract the delta , analyze if it was only shadows moving (and discard), and if not-shadow, save the image, then After a day or two, assemble everything in a simple AVI.

From that I could infer that my cats have different behaviour when i am there, than when I am not.

I have never caught an UFO with the system.

Quanten I think you may be stuck in that reality box so often criticized by the inhabitants of Island Whackado. How do you know the system never caught a UFO? Maybe it captured invisible UFOs and you just can't see them.

Are invisible pink unicorns really our reptilian overlords? You never see them in the same star cruiser together. Is that just a coincidence? You decide.
