Now that, on the face of it, is serious paranoia. Pardon me if I don't open the link.

Depends what it means (and sadly the page requires javascript to see anything, so they can fuck off). Do our own cells 'listen to our thoughts' when we move etc?

Given we Are 'host' to large amounts of diverse bacteria, they outnumber our own cells by 10 to 1 and we would not survive without them, would it be surprising to find they could plug into the signals of the central nervous system?

Asymmetric communication. I could see a gut bacterium getting the message that some sucrose was going by, but I'd be creeped out if I found it laughing at my jokes.

That's what's so creepy. I'm sure it wants something.

    You can probably forget symbiosis.

I don't mind if they listen to my thoughts as long as they aren't judgmental. I'm already married.

The toxoplasmosis tells you what to think, whilst the biome hangs on every word

I tried to convince the local Labrador about my desalination paper, but no dice. I guess some dogs are more expert than others.

    arXiv then?

Speaking of sieving, I'm currently enjoying a flash of good fortune.
