    Compared to a typical multirotor it's complex. In fact, the mechanisms for the 'fans' means the device is as complex as a helicopter rotor assembly but you need 3 or more of them.

    Well at least RE have had ago at getting the USA air force interested and like I posted before the Japanese might like to get involved as a 'face' enhancing project for their upcoming Olympics instead of just another maglev track.

    By a strange coincidence I was reading the stories of Akron and Macon just this morning. I wouldn't put any money on the lower atmosphere airship surviving five years.

    The main problem as I see it with the launch ring is the shock that occurs on exit from the launch tube when it encounters low altitude atmosphere.
