Both Brexit and Trump were promoted by Cambridge Analytica.

    That pretty much explains it.

Nvidia just lost a major bid for building the fastest computer on the planet, Aurora. The bid went to Intel, using Xeons.

I don't think so - too much money, too much momentum now. Yes, there's a massive gap between how kids learn and how deep learning works, but now we have all this cool tech to unravel the mysteries of the brain also. I give it about a century to be a fully mature technology - tops.

    A great quote from there

“Sometimes, I wake in the morning wondering what is bearing in on me, and then I remember,” he says. “Brexit does seem to me a national tragedy… the great lie of the Brexiters, their magic dust, was to persuade 37% of the electorate that the EU, not the UK, was in charge of immigration, and they succeeded.”

Posted By: thehardI am considering starting an AI project.

During the last couple of months I've asked around if anyone was willing and able to join me with this crazy idea. No success. But suddenly an old colleague has asked me to take part in a conference about artificial voice generation. Weirdest part of it all: he doesn't know about this project.

Now I have to think about what to say next Thursday to a professional audience devoted to this. The goal is to sound smart enough so that they are willing to listen to me over a beer afterwards. Interesting times!
