In my recent experience it is all too true.

Not all of it (traditional trap literality quip), but with so much DeepHypeTM, surely much.

I even hype myself, opening a new arXiv PDF and leaving it on the taskbar ready to excitedly consume shortly thereafter.
Such has been the fate, for example, of Gauge Equivariant Convolutional Networks and the Icosahedral CNN for the past couple of weeks, still unread.

Yet again tensors prove their worth.

Hmmm. In "all too true" I think the "all" modifies to the "too". I happily concede that there are AI things that don't boil down to some form of algorithmic optimisation routine. My comment referred to the design, development and marketing of a commercial SaaS optimisation product I'm involved with. Things are never what you thought they were going to be.

Russell’s version of Asimov's Laws states:

The machine’s only objective is to maximize the realization of human preferences.
The machine is initially uncertain about what those preferences are.
The ultimate source of information about human preferences is human behavior.

The Defense Department will soon adopt a detailed set of rules to govern how it develops and uses artificial intelligence, officials familiar with the matter told Defense One.

Using a machine-learning algorithm, MIT researchers have identified a powerful new antibiotic compound. In laboratory tests, the drug killed many of the world's most problematic disease-causing bacteria, including some strains that are resistant to all known antibiotics. It also cleared infections in two different mouse models.
