But as that intelligence continues to climb, the danger from using AI in an irresponsible way also brings the potential for AI to become a social and cultural H-bomb. It’s a technology that can deprive us of our liberty, power autocracies and genocides, program our behavior, turn us into human machines and, ultimately, turn us into slaves. Therefore, we must be very careful about the ascendance of AI; we don’t dare make a mistake. And our best defense may be to put AI on an extreme diet.

It seems as if we're pretty good at that without AI.

It's going to have to back out of the garage reliably first.

Some things are harder than others.

Backing out of a garage: difficult.
    Enslaving humans: easy.

I was idly wondering yesterday about a task for an AI to show its stuff--and I thought of a task.

Take a recording of a film score, Broadway Musical or symphony and create a written score, complete with annotations.

My take is that this is way beyond the capabilities of any AI today. It's tough enough for a human.
