Like Hyperloop but slower and more expensive and less successful without vacuum and proven to work:

No more in Germany, but it works fine in Shanghai. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transrapid

The BBC concludes with a level head:
Even if one suspects that Hyperloop routes linking major cities are unlikely to make it off the drawing board, the project is doing a great job of making us think about a greener transport system.

Gahh. Even thinking about moving that fast while in close proximity to solid objects that aren't... gives me the willies.

The service is expected to carry around 10,000 passengers per hour in both directions.

Let's see... (10,000 passengers / hour) / (10 passengers / pod) = 1,000 pods / hour.... I want to see the loading and unloading facilities.

You need 100 vacuum tubes in parallel. They can afford it in Abu Dhabi if they work fast.

There are 10,000 people per hour who want/need to go to/from Dubai and Abu Dhabi? I call BS decimal point error. Also 12 minutes for 87 miles is not 760 mph. It's 435 mph.

I am sure this is racist in some people's view but the contrast between the people, especially the women, in medieval age garb and the 24th century technology is quite striking.

And the vacuum pumps... and the emergency access and exits... and the method used to prevent collisions with the next pod if one has to stop due to a malfunction...

... but I like the shape. I am starting to think maybe Musk has a small dick. Large cojones, though.

I suppose there will be separate pods for men and women, conveniently color coded white and black respectively.
