The MIT-developed beam combining tech (WBC) is revolutionary. The efficiency is good at 40%. As usual I dream of beamers.

A diffraction grating wavelength multiplexer. Standard operating procedure in WDM optical communications. What's new is the application.

They might not be too bad---what do you look like?

Theoretically, something slightly to the north of the lensmaker's formula

Ever study the optical characteristics of the lens in the human eye? It's remarkable that we can see very much at all.

Good idea, maybe 'they' can modify it into a portable heat gun that makes people run away from the effect it has on them, making them think their skin is on fire, less dangerous than a taser.

Set Laser to "Mildly Irritating" :)

I'd like to see this scaled down, for home (CNC) laser cutting, instead of having to use those water cooled laser tubes.

Not a burn just the pain of one.

Not much of a laser though more like a microwave.

Gives me the idea of a Maser on a drone, zap away those annoying gangs of teenagers to somebody else's neighbourhood.

    Gang busters for hire.
