You'll find out just how important gravity (or acceleration) really is.

Some advice: take plenty of bungee cords.

I guess running 30kV over top of the fuel isn't a problem. They probably design in stuff like that all the time.

    Not an unusual tale.

    (Actually, on any airline)

    (Except perhaps Singapore)

A maintenance mishap? The blue one has cowlings removed and was probably just sitting there when the white one got away during an engine runup perhaps, and pulled up underneath the blue one. I wonder what the actual story is.

al Jazeera blew the whistle on Boeing's engineering corruption five years ago. Of course if you have a knee-jerk bias against al Jazeera you wouldn't know that.

I can only imagine that similar levels of corruption and incompetence exist at Airbus as well.

Both companies are responsible for hundreds of deaths caused ultimately by company and industry and regulatory cultures. The similarities are astounding, really. Both Airbus and Boeing have made airplanes that have scared the pants off of lucky pilots and passengers and killed hundreds of unlucky ones due to collisions between unanticipated software issues and pilot training or lack of it, occurring inside a regulatory environment that was like a veritable incubator for danger.
