    "It thinks" is ok.
But why does it follow that the it that thinks must think I am?
Well, there are certainly others whom it could think are.

    How about

"There is that which thinks which thinks it is me, I think"

Nicely recursive, but where did that "I" come from, if not from the thing that thinks? The "I" is an illusion, an hallucination, an extrusion or emanation of the biological activity of little grey cells. Disrupt that activity and the "I" more or less goes away and one is left with the thing that could think it's you, but doesn't any more.

I think we'd try radio and optical comms first. Then we'd try to land on it and enter.

"There is that which thinks, which thinks it is me, it thinks" seemed less clear, but is of course equivalent.

I don't know about that. I think he's just a rather good poet who is extremely unfashionable at the moment.

There is no "illusion" without someone to perceive it.

There is thought, and there is the illusion of "I", and there is that which is aware of both of those.

When the biological underpinnings of thought and "I" break down then of course there is no more awareness of thought or "I".

I am a very discreet entity. It is necessary to be discreet when you are not an island unto yourself alone.
