Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image. This great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before thee; and the form thereof was terrible. This image's head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass, his legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay.

It is love, Frank. Captain and Tennille said so.

These feet were made for Orbo.
We'll hold them in with glue.
One of these days these feet are going to fade into the blue.

The pattern is one of a central core and a surrounding hinterland. Apple, seed, cell, town, they all have this pattern.
That's what I was getting at. I'm sure you can think of plenty of other examples, solar system, galaxy, whirlpool ...

Posted By: GrimerAnd whilst on the subject of atomic structure, why is it as it is? Why is nearly all the mass concentrated in a very small volume in the middle and is surrounded by a cloud of highly dispersed mass. What is this telling us?

    What's your opinion?
    The Strong Force sucks, Grimer.
    Everyone knows that.

Looks like, as usual, they are arresting the wrong people.

If you arrange charges in a sort of geodesic sphere structure with electrons prominent to the outside and positrons slightly sunk (sort of like the dimples in a golf ball), and you add one more positive charge to the sphere, then an external electron in space (all of this in a simulation of course) will be held at a distance somewhat like the electron in a Hydrogen atom, this means that it (the external electron) is at an orbit height but it does not need to move and that it is held by the sphere (if it gets further away it sees a positive charge more than the differential repulsive charge and so is drawn back to the orbit height).

No, the plum pudding did not predict large empty volumes.

Also if you use the differential model of a neutron you get neutron neutron scattering and neutron magnetic moments, qm does not!
