    Hmmm--I thought that the title had something to do with "cow magnets". These are small alnico bar magnets either plated or contained in a plastic capsule. Get the cow to swallow a few and they'll pick up any bits of baling wire and "tramp iron" and keep them from perforating the cow's innards. The ones cited below are more advanced ceramic ferrite:

    I misspoke--evidently putting more than one in a cow can result in damage. Farmers apparently employ a magnetic compass to determine which animals have already been dosed.
