Now this is just too cool. I bet it could be another Go-Pro company. I hope they sell stock.

    Review: http://www.cnet.com/products/lily-camera/

Uses same 12MP Sony sensor as Go-Pro 3 according to that review.

It's OK as a camera but fairly useless as a drone since there is no way provided to control it directly.

    A shotgun could help.

    I like it though.

It was designed for narcissists like me. Imagine the sailing photos you can get --max altitude is 50' AGL as it comes. Perfect for that photo of us crossing over the finish line first in an intra-club "beer can" race.

But I think there are additional options to control the drone from a smartphone app... if there aren't now, there will be. Not sure how it communicates with the control puck. Can't be bluetooth-- too short range and too unreliable. Might be UHF radio frequencies? Would wifi work? It will be interesting when they release all the specs.

Nothing to stop them from making a regular radio controlled drone with that excellent camera, sleek form factor, 20 minute battery supply (not bad), waterproof housing, and precise tracking ability.
  1.
    - No obstacle avoidance
    - Unswappable batteries
    - Slow
    - Expensive

    Nice looking though

If you want a real waterproof drone (the AUTO version does everything MY wants) here it is.

It uses the smarporn WiFi, having a WIFi terminal aboard. It's still very short range.

Drones make a bit to much noise to really catch on.
