Actually it was Carl whom he tattooed. In a manner of speaking.

    Common practice with the Yakuza.

  1.
Rod Steiger did a pretty good weird movie portrayal of it too

Bradbury's "The Illustrated Man"? Bradbury just doesn't translate well to the screen, I think.
  2.
Fahrenheit 451 wasn't bad either. But I have to agree that Bradbury seems to tap directly into our imaginations, and as such no movie could ever compete. Blue sky summer days and the feeling of being a kid in the fields again is inextricably linked in my mind with Bradbury.

Posted By: LoonymanI had a friend in the eighties who was known as tattooed Pat. He promised me if I could find anyone to skin him I was welcome to his skin after his death.... I believe he meant it... And I still believe his skin would make a great bit of art fixed and mounted.

The 'plastination' guy did this. At the entry to one of his exhibitions there stood the naked (and pickled in Glycol) body of a tatooed man, carrying over one arm like a folded coat the flayed and plastinated skin of another.
